A late lazy breakfast with a question: how to eat a fried egg with chopsticks? The two young Japanese men next to me were not going to let me sneak a peek, they were having a “European” breakfast with toast. I managed nevertheless.
The very friendly lady at the Inn reminded me that it was hot outside, so I quickly switched my longsleeve for a T-shirt before heading out. The rain had finally given up and the walk along the coast towards the Cape was quite nice. Apart from the big trucks passing me at really close range.
Along the way I kept marvelling about the wildlife that’s at such close range here: herons, cormorants, buzzards or red kites (not too sure which one, but they are everywhere). I finally also got to see some monkeys up close, they were on the other side of the road but as they can be quite aggressive I decided to walk on without taking their portrait.
After about 12 km I decided I wanted to make a rest and while I was sitting at the rest area, there comes Andre, who is sleeping at the same inn as I am tonight. After a short rest we moved on, just to come back under the roof of the rest area again, so that we could take out our raingear, as it just started to pour.
Luckily not for long, and along the way we meet Marjorie from Costa Rica again, who is also staying at the same lodge.
The Minshuku of a really high quality is run by a young couple and the lady speaks perfect English. The shower and ensuing bath were heavenly and the hostess helped me with some new reservations for next week.
Dinner was delicious! 6 Henros sitting at 6 low Japanese tables with the most exquisite food (sashimi, tempura, miso etc.), all of the ingredients fresh from the sea or the garden. Buy local they say.
Tomorrow will be a very long day with finally two temples again. Stay tuned and thanks for reading!
