So after 1 hour flight to Munich and 12 more from Munich to Osaka, I added another 3 hours by bus to Tokushima and another 20 min by train to Bando Station. From here a green line on the road leads you to the first temple.
But before I could leave from Findel, I had to shed a few tears of joy when some of my friends gave me a surprise goodbye! Again, big thanks for this, it felt soooooo good!!!
During the long flight I made acquaintance with a nice guy who left his 4 kids and wife to spend a week in Japan as a belated birthday gift. After the flight he stayed with me to find my bus to Tokushima. Thanks mate, it’s been really appreciated. Wishing you a few excellent days in Japan.
Upon my arrival in Tokushima I went to Hostel PAQ where I left my suitcase for safekeeping till after the pilgrimage and took the train to Bando and walked to Kanbai-en, my accommodation tonight.
As I was checking in and already planning to visit the first temple today, I realised I had left my passport at Hostel PAQ. Despite my despair, there was no other way than to take the train back to Tokushima, pick up the passport and retake the train to Bando Station. So there went my quiet afternoon.
My host then picked me up at the Bando station, else I would have been late for the excellent dinner…
After dinner I treated myself to a quick hot bath.
And that’s all for today!
Thanks for reading.
If you want to leave me messages on the blog, feel free to do so, but please add your name, otherwise I won’t know who this came from…
